PSI - Information System as a response to the needs of residents

PSI (Przemyśl(any) Information System) is one of the projects of the "Together We Change Przemyśl" project, which refers to the presence of our city on the Internet and the way of communicating with our residents and tourists. PSI is a system that allows for increased accessibility of users with special needs and at risk of social exclusion. Its use has been directly linked to the development of Municipal Accessibility Standards - consistent with legal regulations in force both in the European Union and in Poland. Evaluate the use of these tools by familiarizing yourself with the new solutions on our new city portal and municipal units.

The analysis carried out during the implementation of another project - "Smart City Przemyśl" - showed that 98% of the websites of educational units (51 units) in Przemyśl do not meet accessibility standards, and Public Information Bulletins (BIP) of 90% of units do not meet the basic requirements for this type of publishers. In addition, there was great information chaos and the lack of a developed standard for ensuring the availability of content for people with special needs. The solution is to develop an accessibility standard for publishing information and implement a common CMS system to ensure this standard.

What is Digital Accessibility? Our video explains this:

Digital accessibility is not only an obligation, but also a moral and social responsibility. It means that everyone, regardless of their skills, disabilities or preferences, has equal access to the content and services available on the Internet. Foreign companies and organizations have long recognized the importance of digital accessibility, which brings business benefits and strengthens customer trust. Przemyśl also wants to take care of the needs of all its residents and strives for even higher standards of digital accessibility.

PSI is a response to the expectations of managers of educational units who do not have the resources to provide the service of access to public information in a way that does not discriminate against final beneficiaries, with particular emphasis on disabilities. Website layouts have been developed for all units and one common layout for the Public Information Bulletin. The well-thought-out Information System will also be a source of data for the Open Data Portal, which is another project implemented as part of the "Together We Change Przemyśl" project.

The Przemyśl Information System project is an element of the project: "Together We Change Przemyśl" financed from external funds, 85% from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism for 2014-2021 and 15% from the state budget under the Local Development program.
